In a recent conversation with <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/omereemy\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Omer Reemy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Vice President of Payroll Technology at <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/hibob.com\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HiBob<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Reemy detailed how the company is helping customers to become AI-First, by moving beyond simple &#8220;AI seasoning&#8221; to weave artificial intelligence into the core of the HiBob HR platform.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>The HiBob Philosophy: From &#8220;AI Seasoning&#8221; to AI-First<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Even before Generative AI appeared, HiBob\u2019s approach to AI was what Reemy calls &#8220;AI seasoning&#8221;: using AI tools to enhance existing tasks, such as helping an employee write a company shout-out or predicting employee turnover. Today, that strategy has evolved into a foundational mindset for the HiBob team.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;Every feature that you put on your roadmap: why not solve it with AI? So let\u2019s try to flip our approach. Not what <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">can<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> we solve with AI, but why <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">can\u2019t<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> AI solve this problem? Instead of polishing the job description, for example, why not have AI build the entire assessment process for a role, based on defined skills and competencies?&#8221; \u2014 Omer Reemy<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Reimagining Payroll: Solving for Employees and Employers<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As Omer says, in a thousand-person company, \u201cthere is one person who understands payroll and 999 employees who are impacted by it but don&#8217;t understand it.\u201d HiBob is using AI to bridge this gap, specifically through their Payroll Agent.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">HiBob focuses on a payroll <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">analyst<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> role for their AI agent today \u2013 not an agent modeled after a more senior payroll team member that\u2019s empowered to change anything related to payroll on behalf of an employee. Some examples:<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>1. Automated Variance Reporting<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Traditional payroll systems require manual checks to find changes between pay cycles. HiBob\u2019s AI-first approach removes the need for traditional &#8220;variance reports.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">&#8220;AI will do the analysis even better than a human because of the amount of data to review. What changed in this pay cycle compared to the previous cycle? What happened?&#8217; Most of the time it\u2019s just user education.
